Trip to Utah (This is a long post - sorry)

After Drew's first day of school and a few short days after Scott's trek home, we headed up to Utah. We had a lot of fun visiting with family and friends. The first couple of days we took it easy and just had fun catching up. I got to go visit Gr'ma West a couple of times - it was really good to see her, although I think the kids wore her out!Over the weekend we kept very busy - we had Jamie's Eagle Scout court of honor - Congratulations Jamie!!! We got to see Grandma Gordon and most of Scott's aunts, uncles and cousins. They also had an eagle there, so Drew really loved that. Saturday was also McKenzie's birthday so we had a little party for her, now a big 4 year old. We also went up to the lake for a bit of jet skiing - always fun. Also, in Sandy there was a hot air balloon "glow" and Peter Breinholt concert. That was really neat to see those balloons and just hang out on a summer evening. On Monday we headed up North to go to Flowrider, an indoor surfing and boogie boarding place then over to the Dinosaur park. First we went to Rainbow Gardens to eat lunch - that is always special to me because I used to go there on my birthday with my Great Grandma Campbell for my birthday. Then we went and waited for our turn to surf, and while we waited we played games and went miniature golfing. Scott, Jason and Jamie had fun at Flowrider - the rest of us had fun watching them (except Drew who threw major tantrums the whole time!). So, I know this is probably totally rude, but it was hilarious watching them because after they fall off, the water jets just launched them up over the top. Anyhow, it was fun. After that we went to the dinosaur park which is up by the mouth of Ogden Canyon. Drew had a blast checking out all the dinosaurs, and after a huge scare, even figured out they were just pretend (or "teprend"). I'm not sure what Taylor thought of all the giant moving and growling things, but he was a good sport.

Tuesday was our last day there and we went to Jungle Jim's (per Drew's request). While there we also had a little party for Taylor. We were so excited and surprised because Drew has been a little chicken when it comes to rides, but for some reason, he jumped on every one of them and had a great time! We had a very enjoyable trip.
