Underwater World

On Saturday, February 23, we went to Sentosa to got to Underwater World, or, Underworld, as Drew so lovingly called it. It was a small, but well done aquarium. They had a couple of touch pools - the first one had archer fish, blow fish, bamboo sharks and starfish - the second one was a variety of rays including blue spotted stingrays. Drew had a lot of fun touching the different things - Scott was a little more timid. Ha!

They also had the normal aquarium stuff - fish, crabs, etc. They did have some crazy fish like stone fish - which are locals here, and sea dragons - that look like swimming plants and some other crazy stuff.

This first picture is a stone fish and part of the reason I don't go very far into the ocean here - oh that and the jelly fish - both of which are poisonous - not to mention mean looking buggers.

They also had a tunnel with a ton of nurse, white-tip reef, and sand tiger sharks, there were also saw fish, huge rays and fish. We also got to see Gracie, the dugong or sea cow.

Then after we had seen everything at the aquarium, we went over to the lagoon to see the Pink Dolphin show. None of our pictures really turned out right, but they were pretty cool and really pink - or at least parts of them were pink. That is because they are born grey, but turn pink as they mature. The kids had a very fun day!
