So, we had been home a whole week and decided it was time to go on another journey. So, this time we went to Disneyland to celebrate my mom's birthday - it is, after all, her very favorite place to be! So, we packed up Drew, who could barely sit still he was so excited, and Taylor who had been throwing up for 3 days and headed out. Our first stop was to pick up my sister-in-law, Afton, and niece Carolyne at the airport. Yes, they were good enough to fly to Phoenix from Vegas just to drive with me all the way to California. Thanks again you two! And, then we were off - sort of - we had to stop at Wal-mart, and after 3 tries, the stinkin' GPS finally found one that was actually there. We got there in the evening and headed over to Denny's for some dinner, then to the beautiful hotel (thanks Dad) to rest for our next day's adventures.
On Friday, it was Mom's birthday, so she and Dad got to go for a fun breakfast with some of the characters on Main Street. Then, later we joined them. Taylor was still sick, so we was a bit grouchy most of the day. We went first to the Jungle Cruise. Then we climbed up Tarzan's tree house - well some of us - others remained on solid ground. Then we went on Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. That is where Drew picked up his styling Pirate medallion that he sported for the rest of the trip.
We went back to the hotel for naps, then after that came back to watch the Disney/Pixar parade. This is a really fun parade with all of the characters from the films like Cars, Finding Nemo, Bugs Life, and Monsters Inc. Drew and Carolyne loved watching the characters - Taylor, not so much.
We went on a few more rides that night - Buzz Lightyear and (Drew's ex-favorite ride) the rockets. But, mostly we just wandered around enjoying being at Disneyland.
On Saturday we got there early to get to all the rides in Fantasyland and California Adventures. Taylor was feeling a little bit better (still not great), and Carolyne now had croup. Poor kids. But, we still had a great time.
Then in the afternoon we headed out to Las Vegas, where we stayed with Cam and Afton. We had a fun time being there with them and spending time with Carolyne and Afton - Cam is very busy studying for his dental boards (Good luck Cam!) The kids seemed to get along pretty well and had fun together. Then on Tuesday, Grandma and Grandpa Gordon came to get Drew for his special week with them. Then, on Wednesday, Taylor and I (both finally feeling better), packed up and headed back to AZ.

You are a brave soul!! But, it sounds like you guys had a blast. That sounds so fun and like it was worth the drive. I hope you guys will be in Texas soon!
I haven't been on your blog in awhile. Looks like you (and Scott) are having a good time. I'm sure it's nice to be back around family again. Love all the pictures.

Cute fun pictures, Brooke! I bet Drew and Taylor loved Disney. I miss you around here, but I'm happy for you!
