Happy Chinese New Year! We hope you all started your new year off with a bang! :-) We had a great time on New Year's Eve - we went down to Chinatown to be at the heart of the celebrations. It was crazy the amount of people there - I imagine similar to Times Square. They had singing, dancing, the dragon and lion dances - and frankly, we missed it all thanks to us standing on the wrong side of the street. Luckily, we still got to see the fireworks, and we are now regaining our hearing from the firecrackers. And, we did get to see all the fun sights of Chinatown at this fun time of year.
Oh, and we found the most delicious food - there is a restaurant that we went into to get some scallion pancakes and dumplings. Scott asked if they had any vegetarian dumplings and the chef said, "No, we're out." Then, the little Chinese lady said, "Yes we have them - they are fresh," and she sent the guy to go make some fresh dumplings for us. He wasn't happy about it, but they were good and worth the wait. YUMMY! Anyhow, it is now the year of the mouse (or rat) and we hope it will be a good one. A lady at church said she loves Chinese New Year becuase it is like New Years for procrastinators - so any of you who have had slow start to your resolutions, time to jump back on the band wagon. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Sounds awesome! I definitely need to celebrate the Chinese New Year if it's for procrastinators. I was going to try to go to the gym 2-3 times a week...so far I've been once total! Hope you keep finding yummy vegetarian food!
