A Rant

So, coming here, we knew that the first couple of weeks would be brutal. We've done this before, we know the drill. However, culture shock, jet-lag and the like while trying to get work done, find a place to live and get kids settled is never fun and can't be fully anticipated.

The getting here was good. No worries. Then we got here - to the heat and the tons of people and it seems like everything is difficult. Within the first week, we had: teething, two people with migraines, two cases of the flu, one thrown out back, 1 trip to the doctor, and an emergency room visit. Oh, and no place to live.

I think it is starting to come together. It took a while, but we found an apartment that we like. It is further away from the city, so both Scott and Drew have long commutes, but it doubled the size of the apartment we could afford. So, we are not squished into the tiny apartment we thought we would be in, instead we are in a 791 square foot place! I'll post pictures when we get it put together. Right now it is just luggage and a blow up mattress.
